Play together in the same room

Local Multiplayer Emulators

Connect nearby phones over the same Wi-Fi network or a personal hotspot. One host device runs the game, while each guest chooses controller-only mode or receives the game screen and audio directly. Guest players do not need a Free Play Bay account or their own ROM.

Separated for safety

Independent Local Multiplayer

Local Multiplayer is kept separate from both Single Player and Online Multiplayer. It reuses the universal Free Play Bay player styling and saved controller layouts without loading the online room server, TURN, Socket.IO, or account identity system.

No guest accountGuests pair directly from the invitation and never need to sign in.
Controller or screenEach guest can independently use controller-only mode or game-screen mode.
Up to four playersThe host is Player 1 and up to three nearby guest devices can join.
Local network onlyController input, video, and audio travel directly between nearby devices.
